The Kvammadalselvi Development Project Is in Full Swing
The road to the power plant has been established with an incline of approximately 20 degrees, and the first deliveries of concrete have been transported down to cast the base slab for the waterway and turbine. The power plant will be located at elevation +454, with the intake at elevation +875, and will have a gross head of 421 metres. The pipeline will be approximately 2.46 kilometres long and will be buried along its entire length. Expected production will be approximately 14 GWh. The area where the power plant building will be located has been established, the concrete work has begun, and it will gradually be ready for construction. At the same time, full focus is being placed on establishing the pipeline route to facilitate the installation of the pipes, as well as on the work at the intake to prepare the intake dam and, later, the construction of the intake itself.
The project is following the schedule, and work on the project will continue well into the autumn, as long as it is safe to do so with regard to ice and frost. Completion and the expected start of production are scheduled for summer 2027.
